ShalomLearning FAQ

ShalomLearning provides comprehensive, up-to-date, relevant materials to help educate today’s learners. Our curriculum is designed to be a complete, comprehensive stand-alone curriculum or you can use any of the components to complement an existing curriculum. We know many educators have limited time to update curriculum materials and make them interactive, so we do that for you. We ensure that every lesson plan has activities that students will find engaging and meaningful. Our curriculum can be used for onsite or online classes. We also provide tools, training, ongoing support, and a community of practice to enhance your teaching practices and elevate Jewish education.

We include everything you need to teach about Jewish values and/or Hebrew to children in grades K-7.

  • All curriculum content, including curriculum overview, lesson plans, adaptable slides, and additional resources (videos, songs, etc), for our K-7 values-based curriculum
  • All teaching materials needed for Hebrew programs with three options for learning to read Hebrew and two for learning Hebrew prayers
  • Ongoing content and technology training for teachers
  • An online Learning Management System where educators can access all materials, easily track student progress, and provide online student feedback.
  • A community of practice for educators to share ideas and best practices
  • Annual review of curriculum to continually update content and integrate the most innovative trends in education technology
  • Special professional development opportunities, such as webinars from industry experts

No, we work with each of our partners to create a program for their community’s needs.  This could range from a single level of our values curriculum or Hebrew programs to the complete curriculum for your entire school.

As a non-profit, our mission is to make engaging, innovative Jewish education accessible to as many students as possible. We have flexible subscription options and strive to keep our prices as affordable as possible. Contact us at 301-660-3800  or info@shalomlearning.org to find the right program for your goals.

We have over 300 partners across Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and independent schools. Our pluralistic approach is designed to be accessible to all learners. We also partner with larger communities, Federations, and organizations, to provide ShalomLearning’s Jewish education to families worldwide.

We provide extensive teacher education, but typically not the teachers themselves.  Our partners hire teachers who use our materials and training to provide a great classroom experience online or onsite for students with less work.

Each of the three Hebrew programs have different teaching philosophies and materials. We can help you choose the program that is right for you. We want to provide as much flexibility as possible to meet the needs of every Jewish learner. To learn more about the differences between the three programs, click here. Our Hebrew programs focus on learning how to read Hebrew and recite prayers. Each program provides opportunities for students to practice chanting through online exercises and recording themselves.

You know your students best – how you use the curriculum is up to you. If you make changes that really resonate with your students, we encourage you to share them with our community of practice.
