Picture a Tuesday at 4:30. Homework’s half-done, dinner’s not started, and somehow it’s already time for Hebrew class. For families juggling every after-school activity under the sun, that used to mean a hard choice. Now it doesn’t.
ShalomLearning’s Online Hebrew Program brings live, small-group Hebrew instruction to students in grades 3-7, wherever they happen to be that day whether or not they are members of a synagogue or attend religious school. No carpool. No commute. Just 45 focused minutes a week, a real teacher, and five or six classmates logged in from the kitchen table, the car, or grandma’s living room.
Why It Works
The secret isn’t flashy technology. It’s small numbers. Every class caps at six students, so every child is seen, and no one spends the session waiting their turn while someone else sounds out a word. Our teachers meet each learner exactly where they are, using a Hebrew curriculum built specifically for small online classes to carry students from first letters to confident, meaningful prayer.
And because classes bring together students from congregations across the country, kids walk away with something extra: Jewish friendships that stretch well beyond their home synagogue.
“My child looks forward to Hebrew every week and has learned so much. I overhear so many good lessons, laughs, songs, and conversations.”

Why ShalomLearning
We didn’t stumble into this. ShalomLearning has spent 15 years building online Jewish education that works, and our Online Hebrew Program is that expertise put into action: five years running, 12 partner congregations, 33 classes running every week, and families from Georgia to Ohio to Texas to Washington, DC. Congregations and families that join, stay, because families see the difference in their kids, week after week.
Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is open now. If your congregation already partners with us, registration is ready and waiting. If it doesn’t yet, tell your Education Director, we’d love to talk.
If you are a family not affiliated with a congregation, you are welcome to register independently.
